  • The Council was created in 2004 when the Romney Administration divided the state into five homeland security regions to improve planning and coordination across community and government agency boundaries. Made up of first responders from the region, each Council member commits to a two-year term. Our budget for FY ’05 is $4.6 million.

The 10 disciplines from which are members come from are fire, law enforcement, EMS, local boards of health, and local hospitals, public works, emergency management, regional transit, government administration and corrections.

    Our focus includes:
    • Identification of Threats and Vulnerabilities within the Region
    • Plan Regionally to Protect Critical Infrastructure and Key Assets
    • Training First Responders and Local Officials
    • Improve Interoperability
    • Multi-jurisdiction Exercises
    • Intelligence Gathering & Information Sharing
